"Too many actors but no one to act" by El Osas Iyalekhue
"There are too many actors but no one to act" says El Osas. Acting can be a tricky career. A lot of persons never hit the big mark. This is largely because many actors are professionals only in their own mind.
If you do a million Alaba movies and not a single big screen movie, you are only an actor in your mind. Only the best make the big screens. What defines a good actor is professionalism. The technical know-how of what his role is to the director as a creative contributor. His ability to perfect voice tones, orotund, oral, guttural, aspirate, the total synthesizing of these vocal vocabulary.
Every time you take a keen look at the crowd of actors barraging audition grounds, it becomes easy to see a deep lack in ability to interpret character.
Actors who express anger and surprise with the same frown. Actors who under-express lines, missing the very ability to psychophysically become a conceived dramatic entity. Many other times we see some other actors who express just situations but miss the spine of a characters story and the given objective of the character.
More dangerous is the actor who does not understand dramatic speech and schools of thought of acting. The reason for all this palaver is that these actors lack experience and mentor-ship through performance education or organized workshops. You can never be a professional without paying for knowledge...too many actors are not trained. This is why "there are too many actors but no one to act".
